The U.S. Mission in Korea is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Program Assistant in the JUSMAG-K (Joint U.S. Military Affairs Group - Korea).
Occasional regional trip is required to support JUSMAG-K’s mission and operations.
The incumbents serves as the (Ground / Air/Space/Cyberspace Acquisition / Maritime)) Program Manager to facilitate, advise, coordinate and execute the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Cooperation Programs with relevant U.S. and Republic of Korea (ROK) organizations. Assists ROK counterparts in the planning and execution of programs to include U.S FMS (Foreign Military Sales) procurements, identifying areas of future capability development, official visits to United States, various meetings and teleconferences with U.S. counterparts, technology transfer, defense cooperative programs, and requests for information; assists U.S. Military Departments in arranging for the visits to Korea, various meetings and teleconferences, attending defense exhibitions and other major events, receipt, transfer, and acceptance of security assistance material, training, or other services procured under FMS. Performs other duties as needed.
All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust - Background Investigation.
All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time [four (4) weeks] upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Option 1:
Experience:
At least four (4) years of work experience in the field of acquisition, business/organizational management, logistics, or international relations is required.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Military Science, Security Studies, or International Affairs is required.
OR
Option 2:
Experience:
At least six (6) years of work experience in the field of acquisition, business/organizational management, logistics, or international relations is required.

Education:
Two years of University or College Study in any field is required.
Language:
Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing English and Korean is required.

Skills And Abilities:
Must have a valid Korean Driver’s License (Class II)/ Must have held a driver’s license for a minimum of five (5) years at the time of application.
