SENIOR ADVISOR, EXPORT PROMOTION, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA

We are looking for a new team member to join our team, someone who can adeptly assist Finnish enterprises in identifying business partners within South Korea, as well as provide expert advice on market strategies and business etiquette.

The ideal candidate will possess profound knowledge and established networks in the Korean ICT industry. Our goal is to build business connections for Finnish companies in areas such as quantum computing, defence, space, microelectronics, 5G/6G, cyber security.

You will be based in our Seoul office and report to our Region Head for Japan, Korea & Taiwan, Suvi Sundquist, who is based in Tokyo. The Senior Advisor will be employed in accordance with the regulations applicable to local staff in full compliance with South Korean labor laws.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Your principal responsibility lies in championing and enabling the success of Finnish companies in the South Korean market.

Your tasks will include:

• Following the market in your sector and identify business opportunities for Finnish companies
• Keeping up to date on the latest technology trends in sustainability and digitalization
• Working with a portfolio of innovative companies
• Facilitating the pursuit of new business opportunities for Finnish companies within the South Korean market
• Working with South Korean companies as they scout for innovative solutions and introduce the Finnish offering
• Building meaningful connections between Finnish and South Korean companies
• Building meaningful business delegation programs for groups of companies

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

We seek someone with knowledge and networks in South Korean ICT industry with ability to drive business relations also in various ICT related topics such as defence, space, semiconductors and industrial IOT.

In addition, we expect you to have:

• Experience and proven track record in industrial sales and market strategy
• Strong existing networks in at least one of the mentioned sectors in South Korea and the ability to build new networks
• Good verbal & written communication skills in both Korean and English
• Background in collaborating with multinational companies
• A proactive can-do attitude and ability to get things done

The role is based in our Seoul office and reports to our Region Head for Japan, Korea & Taiwan, Suvi Sundquist, who is based in Tokyo.

In line with the Finnish government’s reform, Business Finland’s foreign functions will be directly integrated into the structures of the Finnish Foreign Service as of 1 January 2026. Your employment will start with Business Finland in 2025 and, following the reform, it will be transferred to the Embassy of Finland in Tokyo in 2026.
