DESCRIPTION OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Fundraising Team is responsible for driving private income growth through strategic, ethical, and donor-centered fundraising activities. The team plans and executes multi-channel campaigns, ensures high-quality donor engagement, and supports the long-term sustainability of MSF Korea’s operations
The Donor Development Team strengthens donor relationships through strategic loyalty and cultivation programs to increase long-term giving. We design and implement campaigns that educate, engage, and inspire donors, ensuring high-quality donor experiences. The team also monitors performance, manages budgets, and continuously improves engagement strategies in line with MSFK’s fundraising goals.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under the supervision of the Donor Development Manager and in close collaboration with MSF Korea staff and external partners, the Donor Development Specialist supports the planning and execution of donor communications through direct mail (DM) and digital channels, including eDM and SMS.
The position contributes to enhancing donor experience and loyalty by ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent delivery of communication materials across all touchpoints.
By managing operational tasks and providing factual data and analysis, the Specialist helps improve the effectiveness of donor engagement activities and strengthens the team’s overall communication capacity.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Donor Communication – Direct Mail(DM)
- Execute assigned tasks in the planning, production, and delivery of donor communication materials through direct mail (DM), ensuring quality and consistency with MSF’s standards.
- Position DM as a key touchpoint within the donor journey, designing communications that strengthen emotional connection, reinforce donor loyalty, and deliver a consistent MSF experience across all stages of engagement.
- Oversee the full DM process—from audience selection and segmentation to content review, production, delivery, and performance evaluation—identifying insights and opportunities for improvement.
- Act as the key focal point with external vendors and internal stakeholders, managing schedules, production quality, postal logistics, and vendor performance within defined standards and timelines.
- Manage administrative and financial responsibilities, including contract oversight, cost tracking, and payment processing (printing, shipping, agency fees, etc.).
- Prepare initial reports and analyses on DM performance (delivery rate, cost efficiency, response, and impact on donor retention) to support data-driven decision-making and channel optimization.
- Respond to ad-hoc DM-related requests and troubleshoot operational issues in coordination with relevant teams and vendors.
2. Donor Communication – eDM / SMS
- Coordinate and execute manual eDM and SMS send-outs to targeted donor segments.
- Respond to donor inquiries received through eDM/SMS channels.
- Support the delivery of tailored donor engagement contents, such as impact report and appreciation messages, aligned with donor journeys.
3. Reporting and administration
- Maintain accurate records of communication activities and provide periodic reports on delivery, cost and performance.
- Support internal tracking and documentation for quality control and future optimization.
- Handle other administrative duties such as renewal of guarantee insurance and vendor
4. Team and Content Development(Long-term Objective)
- Contributes to the development of customized donor communication content that enhances retention and loyalty.
- In the long term, play a key role in strengthening the team’s operational and creative capacity for donor communication and content development.
5. Departmental and Others
- Support other MSFK FR pillars to maximize the effectiveness of the FR campaign.
- As an active member, participate in MSF relevant Community of Practice and attend the relevant CoP meeting abroad when delegated by the Digital Fundraising Manager and/or Fundraising Director Provide constructive inputs to department-related activities (ex. team meetings, strategic planning, cross-departmental support activities).
- Collaborate closely with MSFK’s Communications department on donor communication needs.
- Be willing to adjust work schedules to suit the needs of the Fundraising responsibilities. This may include working flexible hours and providing support to other roles when required (networking, MSFK events, and evening teleconferences with digital platforms).
- Undertake such other activities as may be required and approved by the line manager and/or Fundraising Director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
1. Experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in NGOs and or corporations.
2. Languages
- Fluent in written and spoken Korean and English
3. Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of Fundraising and/or marketing
4. Essential Skills

1. 후원자 커뮤니케이션 – 우편 발송(DM)

- 대상자 선정 및 세분화, 콘텐츠 검토, 제작, 발송, 성과 평가 등 DM 전 과정 운영 및 개선을 위한 분석 지원
- 외부 협력업체 및 내부 이해관계자와의 조율을 통해 일정, 제작 품질, 우편 발송, 협력업체 성과 관리
- 계약 관리, 비용 추적, 결제 처리(인쇄, 배송, 대행 수수료 등) 등 행정 및 재정 관련 업무 수행
- 발송률, 비용 효율성, 반응률, 후원자 유지율 등 DM 성과에 대한 보고서 및 분석 자료 작성 지원
- 관련 팀 및 협력업체와의 협력을 통해 DM 관련 요청사항 처리 및 운영상 이슈 해결 지원
2. 후원자 커뮤니케이션 – eDM / SMS
- 대상 후원자 세그먼트를 대상으로 한 수동 eDM 및 SMS 발송 조정 및 실행 지원
- eDM/SMS 채널을 통해 접수된 후원자 문의 대응
- 후원자 여정에 맞춘 임팩트 리포트, 감사 메시지 등 맞춤형 후원자 참여 콘텐츠 제작 및 전달 지원
3. 보고 및 행정
- 커뮤니케이션 활동 관련 기록 관리 및 발송, 비용, 성과에 대한 정기 보고 지원
- 품질 관리 및 향후 최적화를 위한 내부 추적 및 문서화 지원
- 보증보험 갱신, 협력업체 조율 등 행정 업무 수행
4. 팀 및 콘텐츠 개발
- 후원자 유지 및 충성도 향상을 위한 맞춤형 커뮤니케이션 콘텐츠 개발 참여
- 중장기적으로 후원자 커뮤니케이션 및 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 팀의 운영 및 창의 역량 강화에 기여
5. 부서 및 기타 업무
- 모금(Fundraising) 캠페인 효과 극대화를 위해 타 모금 영역 활동 지원
- 디지털 모금 매니저 및 모금국장의 지시에 따라 MSF 관련 실무 커뮤니티(CoP) 참여 및 필요 시 해외 회의 참석
- 팀 미팅, 전략 기획, 부서 간 협업 등 부서 관련 활동 참여 및 건설적 의견 제공
- 후원자 커뮤니케이션 관련 필요 사항에 대해 커뮤니케이션팀과 협력
- 모금 업무 필요에 따라 근무시간 조정 및 행사, 네트워킹, 디지털 플랫폼 화상회의 등 유연 근무 지원
- 직속 상사 및 모금국장이 지정하는 기타 업무 수행
자격 요건
1. 경력
- NGO 또는 일반 기업에서 관련 업무 경력 2년 이상 보유
