The Press and Media Assistant assists in monitoring South Korean press and media coverage, developing media contacts, and supporting press and media coverage of issues of importance to the United States. Compiles regular summaries of press and media coverage, including impact of coverage; provides verbal and written reports to Mission leadership and as required, to the Department of State (DOS) on Mission media engagement. Builds productive relationships with press and media professionals in person and online.  Performs other duties as needed.

A.  Education:  A university degree in Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or local equivalent/similar major is required.
 
B.  Prior Work Experience:  Two years of experience in a media outlet, international organization, government, or the private sector, with experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or public affairs is required.

C.  Skills and Abilities: Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to speak publicly; write reports, press releases, and other products; engage in online forums; and contribute to publications in English and Korean.  

D. LANGUAGE:  Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing both English and Korean is required. Please do list all your language skills (including your first language).
