The role: The Business Development Manager (BDM) drives the identification and development of trade and investment business opportunities between Australia and Korea across a span of sectors such as digital technologies, medtech, advanced manufacturing, defence and space technologies, resources and energy. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leading Korean company preferably in an international business development role. The candidate will have strong business English communication skills and a passion for business development and building trusted relationships with stakeholders and clients. We are looking for people with a strong commercial background and experience, preferably including qualifications in a technical field.Duties include•    Implement Austrade’s market strategies across sectors including but not restricted to health and medtech, digital technologies, advanced manufacturing, defence and space, developing and managing relevant initiatives and business-matching activities. •    Developing new Korean business investment opportunities in Australia and export opportunities to Korea•    Establishing and maintaining partnerships with Australian and Korean businesses and other stakeholders  •    Deliver high quality and professional services to eligible Australian businesses including Austrade’s market-specific advice, connection and support services. •    Undertake market research and analysis to identify market trends for existing and emerging business opportunities for Australian companies across industry sectors. •    Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve trade and investment outcomes and uphold the Australian Public Service (APS) Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles. Eligibility 
To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:
•    Work Authorisation - to be eligible for employment with Austrade in Korea, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in Korea at the time of appointment.
•    Language - the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English and Korean.
•    Security Clearance - the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.
