Role Purpose
The main duty of the Business development Assistant is to contribute to increasing off-site contract income of the offsite business by delivering excellent customer services to potential and existing clients and providing efficient administration of the off-site business. The post holder will work in a highly performing team achieving ambitious targets and goals.
Role context
• Further expansion of the off-site business by contributing to the delivery of high-quality English language teaching contracts
• Contribute to the internationalisation and globalisation of the Universities, schools and corporations by improving clients’ educational offer and English language standard
• Establish good relationship with internal colleagues and external stakeholders in a professional manner
• Organise the delivery of our teaching contract in an accurate and timely manner by liaising with clients, teachers and team members
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
1. SALES & SALES SUPPORT
Account Management
Manage relationships with assigned new and existing corporate & educational clients and secure contract renewals by making sure to meet client expectations through regular follow up visits.
Product Knowledge
Acquire and maintain an excellent level of product knowledge at all times. Liaison and training via product owners will be a necessary part of this with a proactive approach required. Observation of classes and ‘hands on’ experience of the products will be required.
Sales meetings with potential clients
Identify sales opportunities mainly with existing clients of universities, schools and corporations, and ensure that our wide range of service portfolio, particularly when new products are developed, is presented in a highly effective way. Work closely with academic team to ensure our proposals are meeting client expectations.
Client liaison and follow up
Follow up with clients who have had an initial sales meeting but did not take up our offer with the purpose of offering them alternative solutions and/ or persuading them to purchase our services.
Offer Knowledge
Acquire and maintain an excellent level of pricing and offer knowledge at all times. Liaison and training via sales and business managers will be required. A proactive approach, including input and feedback from client experience is expected.
2. DELIVERY
Work closely with Manager Corporate Clients, Corporate Clients Officer, Head of Business Development, Operations Manager and Academic Managers at all times to ensure the scheduling of classes/ programmes matches customer preferences and at the expected standards.
Ensure feedback from clients, students, teachers and other Teaching Centre stakeholders is sought at regular intervals, communicated to appropriate people and acted on.
Manage good relationships with teachers and make sure they are fully briefed about the clients, students and other operational related details such as attendance, feedback questionnaires, and grading.
Maintain a clear understanding of changing customer needs / preferences through evaluation and follow up meetings.
3. SUPPORT DUTIES
Maintain and update all databases and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Administration
• Ensure British Council policies and procedures are followed in terms of the Finance function; HR function; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; and Child Protection
• Ensure FABS /CRM/database records are maintained accurately and on time
• Manage information created and received in compliance with the British Council’s information management standards, policies, the UK Data Protection Principles and local legislation
Other duties
• to comply with the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) as per the job requirement
• any other duties as designated by Line Manager and as agreed in Performance Agreement
• attendance at regular professional development, training and skills programmes as required
• full engagement with the performance management programme
Working hours will include evening work and occasional weekend work. Occasional domestic travel and regular visits to corporate and educational clients’ premises.
Requirements:
• Written and oral communications skills in English (IELTS AC module 6.5)
• Fluent in Korean
• University degree

Pay Band – J (starts from KRW 2,124,000 per month)
Contract Type – 1 year, renewable
