Within delegated authority, and under the direction of the Chief of the Section, the Digital Forensic Investigator will be responsible for the following duties: • Plan, organize and conduct complex digital forensic investigations in cases of alleged misconduct, malfeasance, mismanagement, fraud, corruption, waste of resources, or violations of the Organization's regulations, rules and administrative instructions, in close cooperation with other investigative units, in accordance with ID/OIOS standard operating procedures and in compliance with organizational regulations and rules. • Identify, collect, recover, analyze and preserve electronic evidence in a forensically sound manner; • Define the parameters and timetable of digital forensic investigations. • Carry out forensic examinations of digital evidentiary material (mobile phones, laptops, desktops, external hard disks, electronic documents and files, networks and other forms of data storage devices). • Guide investigators in the collection, extraction, preservation, storage and handling of digital evidentiary material. • Perform digital forensic analysis using validated techniques and methods. • Lead the preparation of detailed forensic analysis reports: thoroughly document all methods, tools and activities; ensure that results are accurate, reliable, repeatable, and verifiable; present findings in an objective, clear and concise manner. • Develop standard operating procedures and guidelines for recovery and handling of electronic evidence, digital forensic analysis and forensic reports. • Conduct peer reviews of forensic analysis reports. • Ensure correct interpretation and proper referencing of forensic analysis results by other investigative units. • Oversee or conduct regular training in Digital Forensic awareness. • Provide expert consultations and testimony for tribunals. • Conduct testing and maintain forensic equipment and tools; • Maintain proficiency with industry standard tools and practices. • Supervise Investigations Assistants and Investigators involved in Digital forensic tasks. • As needed, provide guidance and supervision to new and junior staff members. • Collect and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting. • Perform other duties as required.
