UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Established by UN Women with the support of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF) of the Republic of Korea in 2021, the UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality is dedicated to supporting traditional and non-traditional stakeholders in realizing commitments to gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the rights of women and girls through (i) gender capacity-building training programmes, (ii) research and support for production and use of gender data, and (iii) network building, partnership cultivation and advocacy as a leading gender training and knowledge hub in Asia and beyond. The UN Women Centre of Excellence for Gender Equality embraces innovation, including as it relates to new technologies and partnerships, to increase the breadth and depth of its work, aligning with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its transformative promise to leave no one behind.
Reporting to the Programme Specialists, the Program Assistant will provide the finance and administrative support to the member of the Programme Teams and work closely with Finance Associate and Administrative Assistant. S/he contributes to research, financial management, and programme implementation including providing necessary operational, administrative and programmatic support. The Programme Assistant works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and project’s staff in the Centre as required.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Programme Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Programme Assistant will: Provide administrative and logistical support to the Programme Units: • Provide administrative support to events such as webinar, meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.; • Arrange travel and hotel reservations, prepare travel authorizations, process requests for visas, identity cards and other documents, collect information for DSA, as required; • Provide administrative support in the preparation documents for payment process for LTA, vendor, consultants, etc.; • Provide support in monitoring budget; • Create non-PO invoices in Quantum for development projects • Create requisitions in Quantum for development projects; register good receipts in Quantum; • Provide administrative support in the preparation of procurement of services or goods arrangements, support the preparation for Request for Quotations, ITBs or RFPs documents, receipt of quotation, bids or proposal and their preliminary evaluation; • Draft minutes in meetings, as delegated. • Assemble briefing materials and prepare power-point and other presentations, in collaboration with the Programme team. • Serve as the Quantum focal point for vendor creation/submission • Organize and coordinate filing of documents; maintain mailing lists. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

3 years of experience in • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Social Sciences, BSC or related field is required • At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or Programme management/support; • Experience in working in a computer environment using multiple office software packages; • Experience in supporting a Programme team.

South Korea has low rates of terrorism and violence. South Koreans have great respect for the rule of law, according to data from the World Bank. Citizens also have a great deal of respect for the courts and rules of society. There are only minimal regional variations throughout the country, and the year divides neatly into four distinct seasons. There is a delightful spring (April to June), a muggy and wet summer (July to August), a refreshing autumn (September to November) and a freezing cold, snowy but dry winter (December to March).
