About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Country Manager, Korea, the incumbent will support IATA’s activities in Korea, including aiding the delivery of IATA’s agenda and the country’s set objectives.
What your day would be like
- Support the delivery of IATA’s agenda in Korea;
- Assist the building and maintenance of pro-active, professional and top management level relationships with member airlines and other industry stakeholders, as well as with politicians and government officials, in all relevant parts of the host government;
- Aid the promotion of IATA’s policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and products amongst airlines, governments, regional organisations and other industry stakeholders, and coordinate with the Country Manager, Korea regarding the local implementation of global projects, programmes and campaigns;
- Support the monitoring of aero-political, economic and commercial developments in the country, assisting, as requested, with actions which are consistent with IATA’s policies and objectives, including maintaining a database of air transport regulatory and policy initiatives, as well as of contacts amongst government representatives, airline representatives and all other relevant agencies;
- Given local market legislation, develop an understanding of local ISS governance matters, including effective risk management techniques for members’ funds and the forecasting of ISS market trends and risks;
- Support commercial and business development activities, including monitoring the market, selected customer profiles, competition trends and behaviours;
- Assist good media relationships in support of IATA’s objectives, programmes and policy positions, whilst helping to coordinate marketplace communications, especially those related to the defaults of either agents or airlines, as requested;
- Support the organisation of IATA’s events in Korea, whilst providing any necessary assistance at local and regional industry events, as well as for the visits of IATA’s Senior Managers and/or Subject Matter Experts;
- Support corporate fiscal, legal and regulatory compliance in Korea, assist with any relevant administrative matters and fulfil any central reporting requirements, as requested; and
- Any other responsibilities, as determined by the Country Manager, Korea.
We would love to hear from you if
- You have a university degree in Business Administration, Political Science, or any other relevant discipline. An advanced University degree would be an asset.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience with at least three years of experience in a similar role. Exceptional talent for building relationships and managing projects.
- Well-developed negotiation and lobbying skills, and possessing a high level of cultural intelligence.
- Entrepreneurial flair, with a strong sense of commercial acumen. Prior experience in sales and marketing would be an asset.
- Sound knowledge of information technology systems and their applications, particularly the MS Office suite, MS Project and a CRM tool such as Salesforce.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential whilst knowledge of other languages, including Korean and other regional languages, would constitute an advantage.
