Introduction

The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people.
Established in 2010, the GCF invests in transformational climate projects in the developing world. The Fund makes an ambitious contribution to global climate action and channels significant financial resources into developing countries to help build low-emission and climate-resilient societies. It is country-driven and undertakes actions that reflect the circumstances of each country concerned and its national aspirations. The GCF is a key enabler of the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

Since its establishment, the GCF has approved 209 projects in 123 countries and has committed USD 11.4 billion in climate finance. In addition, it has built up an extensive program to support developing countries to identify their needs, in particular, those who are most vulnerable to climate change impacts.

Position Objective
The Accreditation and Entity Relations Analyst is responsible for a range of analytical and operational tasks needed to ensure timely and consistent management of GCF’s engagement with accredited entities and the accreditation and re-accreditation process. S/he will ensure the successful collection and consolidation of data and information on GCF’s Accredited Entity network throughout the partnership, and pipeline of accreditation applicants, based on portfolio and partner-level quantitative and qualitative analyses and considering country programming priorities. The staff member will also support key functions of the Accreditation and Entity Relations Unit, including but not limited to conducting reporting on the Accredited Entity network and accreditation pipeline, inform strategy and policy development with such analyses, and managing databases and information management systems.  

Purpose

• Ensure consistent, high-quality qualitative and quantitative analyses of the accredited entity network and accreditation pipeline 
• Improve and operationalize data management functions, including management of databases  
• Communicate data and analysis results (including in writing and designing visual products) on the accredited entity network and accreditation pipeline, including curating information for reports, knowledge sharing platforms and related systems  
• Inform, based on high-quality analyses, the development of accreditation-related strategies, policies, standards, guidance and tools to enable a diverse and balanced portfolio of accredited entities capable of delivering on country-driven transformational projects/programmes  

Engagement

• Support the development and implementation of accredited entity partnership strategies and approaches to enable a diverse and balanced portfolio of accredited entities capable of delivering on country-driven transformational projects/programmes  
• Strengthen systems and tools for communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing with accredited entities and countries, as well as within and across teams, by using data driven trends and patterns analysis on the accredited entity network and accreditation pipeline 
• Enhance engagement with accredited entities and countries on GCF partnerships and processes to access GCF resources  

Delivery

• Demonstrate high standards of quality, timeliness and integrity in undertaking activities and delivering outputs, including on research/analyses, developing communication materials, official correspondence with clients/partners, and preparing documents, presentations, analytical reports, and other products, as necessary 
• Engage as a team-player to support the efficient and effective organization of the unit’s work and sustain organizational standards of quality and timeliness in the delivery and monitoring of work-plan targets 
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor  

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

• Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of work experience in economics, finance, management, sustainable development, climate policy, environmental sciences, political science, or related fields; Or Master’s degree plus five (5) years of experience 
• Experience in managing business processes and data management systems, particularly in a multilateral programming environment; 
• Knowledge of climate change and climate finance are an advantage; 
• Strong competence and autonomy in data analysis and organization backed by professional skills in the use of standard software programmes, including the Microsoft Office suite of products;  
• Exceptional organizational skills, facilitating communication between various levels of management, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines with high-quality deliverables; 
• Mature judgment and commitment to confidentiality; 
• A team player with a proactive and can-do attitude, contributing to a harmonious environment. 
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and to adapt to continuous change environment; and 
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of a United Nations language is an advantage.
