Organizational Setting The Division of Energy Planning and Nuclear Information and Knowledge comprises the Planning and Economic Studies Section, Nuclear Knowledge Management Section and the Nuclear Information Section. The Division is responsible for strengthening capacities in energy and nuclear power planning, building capacities to manage nuclear knowledge and provide knowledge management services to interested member states, and to procure and provide printed and electronic information in the area of nuclear science and technology.
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Division Director, the Associate Coordination Officer provides assistance, support and liaison to sub-programme managers on matters related to implementation of programmatic activities. The Associate Coordination Officer assists in research and analysis, review and clearance of various reports, internal documents and correspondence.
Role
The Associate Coordination Officer is an analyst, providing background information through research on relevant issues and interaction with counterparts in house, with Member States' Permanent Missions and international organizations; as well as liaison with internal experts, managers and Member States and international organizations, as appropriate; a team member, assisting the Director of Nuclear Planning, Information, and Knowledge Management and senior professionals in the NE PIK with decision-making support and in-house coordination.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Under the supervision of the Director of NEPIK, analysis and reviews inputs from NEPIK divisions on cross-cutting matters, attends meetings as required, prepares summary reports of proceedings, background papers, and other communication on specific issues of programme implementation relevance, including those related to general and specific topics of importance for relevant sections. Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
University degree in business administration, management, international relations or a related field. Advanced university degree is an asset. At least two years of direct relevant professional experience, preferably in international organizations, in the areas of programme planning, coordination and external relations. Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $49254 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 19652*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks' annual vacation, home leave, pension plan and health insurance
