Duties and Responsibilities
The internship opportunity at the ESCAP Subregional Office for East and North-East Asia (SRO-ENEA) located in Songdo, Incheon, Republic of Korea, spans a minimum duration of two months, with the possibility of extension up to six months as deemed necessary by the office. This internship is UNPAID and fulltime. Interns work five days per week under the supervision of a designated staff member in their assigned office. Intern responsibilities will primarily center around researching on social affairs, in preparation for the “Accelerating Digital Innovations for Older Adults in China, Japan and Republic of Korea” study workshop, and/or the 8th North-East Asia Multistakeholder Forum on SDGs. The interns will also contribute to the planning and implementation of the follow-up activities. Duties include a range of tasks, including but not limited to: • Reviewing and analyzing literature and policies related to Digital Innovations for Older Adults and/or SDGs progress of the subregion; • Assisting in the implementation of the event/meetings in the Social Affairs; • Providing support in drafting and preparing official documents for the events – “Accelerating Digital Innovations for Older Adults in China, Japan and Republic of Korea” study workshop, and/or the 8th North-East Asia Multistakeholder Forum on SDGs; • Attending and summarizing for the meetings with the resource persons and partners; and • Providing support during meetings.
Qualifications/special skills
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
