2023-08-14 June 27, 2023 1. General Background
UNHCR Korea aims to increase financial support substantially from the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy (PPH) sector encompassing Corporate, Foundations and High Net Wealth Individuals (HNWIs)/Major Donors in the country, as part of the PSP strategies. This UNOPS LICA position will assist the Senior PSP Officer to develop the fundraising strategies and mobilize funds from the High-Net Worth Individuals/Major Donors and maintaining long-term relationships with donors via tailored stewardship programme.   

The need of this UNOPS LICA position and the budget required for this position was approved as part of UNHCR Korea's PSP Annual Plan for 2023 by the Global PSP Unit HQs

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment
• Assist to develop fundraising proposals to the identified HNWI/Major donors in line with the Private Partnerships & Philanthropy fundraising strategies and action plans;
• Assist to maintain and strengthen the partnerships with the existing HNWI/Major donors by providing daily stewardship services including report, update, etc.;
• Assist to enhance the HNWI/Major donor journey in line with Middle Donor Value programme through close consultation with Individual Giving (IG) team.
• Liaise with global and regional PPH staff as well as field colleagues, when necessary to provide
information and answers to the HNWI and Major donors;
• Conduct preliminary due diligence screening research about potential Major donors, and process the
due diligence clearance with the focal point of the global PPH team;
• Monitor market trends related to the overall PSP activities, particularly HNWI/Major Donor sector; • Draft various communication materials such as appeals, presentations, proposals, updates, regular/annual reports to the HNWI/Major donors in timely fashion and provide the reports to the donors concerned after getting clearance from the supervisor; • Process necessary administrative actions required for Major Donor programme management which includes i) donation receipt issuance, upon receipt of the donations from HNWI/Major donors and send it back to the donors, ii) income recording into the donor base, iii) organizing meetings, briefings, events and field missions and write summary reports/minutes for record;
• Perform any other related duties that may be required.

3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
The individual contractor will work in the UNHCR office under direct supervision of Senior PSP Officer.    

4. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
Completion of university degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Sociology or other related discipline.    

b. Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience for high school diploma or minimum 1 year of experience for BA or higher.
     
c. Key Competencies
• Ability to produce high-quality written materials tailored to specific audiences
• Excellent skill for preparation of pitches, presentations, proposals, reports and any other fundraising materials targeting HNWI/Major donors.
• Excellent written and spoken Korean and excellent English language skills;
• Proven skills in writing, translation and communication and presentation skills;
• Work experience in professional fundraising skills, and/or marketing skills;

d. COVID-19 Requirement
• Recruitment as a UNHCR staff member and engagement under a UNHCR affiliate scheme or as an intern is subject to proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
