PROGRAM MANAGER FOR FISCAL JUSTICE

Do you want to help make the world a better place with your experience advancing  green, inclusive and equitable economic policy agendas? We’re seeking a Program Manager for Fiscal Justice to be based in one of our hub or regional offices to design and execute strategies to address socio-economic inequalities through redistributive fiscal policies and green industrial policy.

The Program Manager for Development and Climate Finance works in the Fiscal Justice Division of the Equity Pillar of Global Programs. As a Program Manager for Fiscal Justice at Open Society you will:

• Conceive, design and manage cross-department, cross-program or similarly complex projects that advance fiscal justice and promote green, inclusive, and equitable economic policies.

• Play a lead role in constructing, managing and assessing grant making portfolios on fiscal and economic justice, sharing responsibility for portfolio strategy design.

• Maintain primary relationship with grantees and with internal and external partners to advance shared goals and advocacy strategies around economic and fiscal justice.

• Use a variety of tools, such as research, advocacy, communications and grant-making to advance agendas around economic and fiscal justice.

What we are looking for:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics or related discipline.

• 5-7 years of deep knowledge of and experience, including strong networks with civil society organizations, academic institutions or think tanks, on at least one of the following issues: economic inequality, fiscal policy, industrial policy and trade, macroeconomics

• Commitment to continuous learning and growth in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, antiracism and social justice.

• Commitment to listening and working with humility; ways of working that are respectful to all people; and that support space and voice for all diverse perspectives in our workplace.

Desirable (but not required):

• A demonstrated understanding of policy-relevant economic research.

• Strong networks and experience working in the Global South.

• Experience working in or with multilateral organizations and international financial institutions, governments and academic networks.

• Fluency in additional languages besides English.

For our office in New York City, the salary range for this role is (76,300.00 - 133,500.00 USD Annual ) plus benefits. The final offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
