1. General Background
UNHCR Korea started its Private Sector Partnerships Services (PSP) in 2009 and since its launch, the program has grown significantly in terms of donor base as well as fundraising income.
The number of active regular giving donors of UNHCR Korea has exceeded 230,000 and it became more important to build a robust and long-lasting relationship with the donors to contribute toward supporting the refugee cause.
In order to provide satisfactory experiences to donors and maximize their lifetime value, UNHCR Korea aims to recruit a staff responsible for assisting the managing the donor retention and development programs.
2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment
- Assist UNHCR Korea's PSP team in implementing overall donor retention and development program;
- Under the supervision of PSP IG Associate (Donor Retention and Development), create plans for annual donor retention development program in accordance with the life cycle of donors of UNHCR Korea;
- Analyze the current donor retention and development programs and make a test plan if a necessary action needs to be taken to improve the result of the programs;
- Create and develop donor communication materials (thank you letter, appeals, impact reports, etc.);
- Plan and implement donor recognition program based on donor's donation anniversaries;
- Respond to inquiries and requests from donors professionally; and
- Perform other duties as required.
3. Monitoring and Progress Controls
The individual contractor will work for the UNHCR Korea Office under the direct supervision of PSP IG Associate (Donor Retention and Development). The individual contractor will perform duty in a combination of office and flexible working environment in line with UNHCR Korea’s guidelines.
4. Qualifications and Experience
a. Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)
- University degree in preferably Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields.
b. Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience for high school diploma or minimum 1 year of experience for BA or higher in donor/client management, marketing, communication, and/or fundraising.
c. Key Competencies
- Excellent writing skills in Korean
- Strong analytical thinking and skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks at a time while paying strict attention to details
- Ability to work independently within a collaborative team environment
- Fluency in Korean and English (both written and spoken)
d. COVID-19 Requirement
- Recruitment as a UNHCR staff member and engagement under a UNHCR affiliate scheme or as an intern is subject to proof of vaccination against Covid-19.
