Project Manager _ Global Events (Paris)

The ICC Global Events team is currently looking for a Project Manager, who will report to the Global Partnerships and Development Head of Operations.

The ICC Global Events Team is part of the Global Partnerships and Development department at ICC. It aims to leverage the presence of ICC across our global network through the promotion of international conferences, seminars and training programmes, delivering ICC services, standards and business tools to the private sector and key stakeholders at regional and global level. 

The ICC Global Events team is currently looking for a Project Manager, who will report to the Global Partnerships and Development Head of Operations. 

The role 

The Project Manager will be in charge of organising the annual ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition, which is a week-long event with multiple side events. The position is based in Paris. 

The role involves administrative tasks including: 

  • The preparation and organisation of the Mediation Competition, including promotional activities and all logistical tasks 
  • The preparation and organisation of events related to ICC Arbitration and ADR, including promotional activities and all logistical tasks 
  • Supporting the preparation and organisation of other conferences, trainings and seminars, which might be included in the pipeline of the GPD department 
  • Liaising with the Sponsorship team, and assisting in identifying sponsors when needed 

The annual Mediation Competition requires several months’ preparation time, including: 

  • Setting up the different working groups that give guidance and help in the early preparation of the competition, including revising the Competition Rules and reviewing the drafting and finalisation of the Competition Problems 
  • Opening the registration process and selecting both the student teams and the professionals, which will take part in the competition 
  • Preparing the promotional materials 
  • Selecting venues, negotiating contracts and preparing payments 
  • Handling all logistical and organisational aspects of the Competition 
  • Organising the trainings for professionals, students and volunteers 
  • Handling questions from teams and professionals 
  • Organising all side events included in the ‘ICC Mediation Week’ 
  • Liaising with sponsors  
  • Managing the event budget 
  • Managing two interns to assist the Project Manager for the six- month period leading up to the Competition 

Requirements 

  • Proven know-how and experience in organising large-scale, international events such as conferences, trainings and competitions, including all aspects of their preparation 
  • Excellent project management skills (time, budget, resources management) 
  • Great organisation skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities 
  • Proven capacity to work under high pressure  
  • Great computer skills 
  • Knowledge of online apps related to event management 
  • Experience in setting up educational events for university students is a plus 
  • Basic marketing knowledge concerning partnership management 
  • Commercial acumen  
  • Excellent oral and written English as well as good French are essential. Fluency in any other language is an advantage 
  • Work experience in an international environment is desired
